Honest or misleading? Spot axes that don't start at 0, stretched icons, skipped years and tiny surveys.
Is This Graph Lying? teaches kids to check a graph before they believe it. Each round is a made-up post: a headline and a graph drawn from kid-sized data like class votes, pets, library visitors or ice cream sales. About half the posts are honest. The player calls each one HONEST or MISLEADING, then taps the part that tricks you: a y-axis that doesn't start at 0, a picture row stretched to look longer, years that skip, a few cherry-picked months, a survey of only four kids, circles sized by width instead of area, or a headline that says one thing causes another. Then the graph redraws honestly. The game also counts honest graphs called misleading, so kids learn to judge both ways. Level 8 adds picking the fix. Best for Grades 4–8.
