Walk the fence around each shape — tap every side to lay it and the meter counts the units all the way around, then lock in the perimeter.
Fencing a shape means tapping each side in turn while a running meter adds up the units all the way around the boundary — so a child builds the perimeter by walking the edge, not by filling the inside (the area is even shown as a decoy). The play covers rectangles, rectilinear L-shapes with six sides, and a missing-side inverse where the total is given. It builds perimeter, adding the side lengths, and reading a unit grid. Best for Grades 3–5, or any learner ready to tell perimeter apart from area.
