Read a graduated cylinder at the bottom of the meniscus, work out what each small line is worth, fill to a line, and find a stone's volume by displacement.
Graduated Cylinder is free, interactive graduated cylinder practice. Kids read the water level at the bottom of the meniscus with their eye level, then work out what each small line is worth when the labels go up by 10 but the lines are 2 mL or 5 mL, and read small 10 mL cylinders marked in 0.5 mL and 0.2 mL. A magnifier shows the curve up close, and every miss names the slip: reading the top of the curve, counting lines as 1 mL, one line off, or trusting a slanted look (parallax). In Fill mode they drag the water until the curve sits on a target volume, and in Stone drop they read the water before and after a stone sinks to find its volume by displacement (after − before, and 1 mL = 1 cm³). Best for Grades 3–7.
