Division Games for Kids (Grades 3–7)
Play Division Dash (Grades 3–5)Division games teach sharing into equal groups, division facts, remainders and long division. These free games cover grades 3 to 7, and most are for grades 3 to 5.
Division asks how many are in each group, or how many groups there are. It is the opposite of multiplication, so a child who knows 6 × 7 = 42 also knows 42 ÷ 7 = 6. These games start with sharing and division facts, move on to remainders and long division, and end with dividing fractions. They are free, with no ads and no login.

- Galaxy DividersGrades 3–4Split a drifting ship swarm into equal docking bays — drag, tractor-beam or deal the ships round by round; leftovers escape to the pod as remainders.Play
- Division DashGrades 3–5A treat delivery needs sharing — work out the equal split and send the delivery.Play
- Division SquadronGrades 3–5Fire your split cannon at an alien formation: tap ÷3 and the ships snap into rows of 3, every full row explodes, and the leftover ships — the remainder — dive at you.Play
- Long Division DepotGrades 4–5Deal crates onto the trucks round by round — what's left in the pile is the remainder. Sharing IS the division!Play
- Division Remainder RanchGrades 4–5Pen the flock into equal pens — fill the whole pens, mind the sheep left over, and decide when a leftover still needs a pen.Play
- Fraction DivideGrades 5–6Divide fractions by scooping: how many 1/4-cup scoops fit in 3/2 cups? Ladle out one scoop at a time — the count IS the quotient.Play
- Long Division Decimal DockGrade 7Bring down zeros and set each quotient digit to turn a fraction into a decimal — remainder 0 ends it, and a remainder that comes back lights up the repeat block.Play
Common Questions
What grade do kids learn division?
Division starts in grade 3, together with multiplication: kids learn what it means and divide within 100. Grade 4 divides numbers up to four digits by a one-digit number, with remainders. Grade 5 divides by two-digit numbers. Grade 6 uses the standard long division method and divides fractions by fractions.
How do I teach division to my child?
Start by sharing real things. Share 12 crackers between 3 plates and count how many each plate gets. Then link it to multiplication: 3 times what makes 12? Learn the division facts as the times tables in reverse. Last, show remainders: 13 crackers on 3 plates is 4 each, with 1 left over.
What is a common long division mistake?
Kids often skip a zero in the answer. For 612 ÷ 6 they write 12 instead of 102. After 6 ÷ 6 = 1, the next digit is 1, and 6 does not go into 1. Write 0 in the answer, bring down the 2, and divide 12 ÷ 6 = 2. Always check by multiplying: 102 × 6 = 612.
Which division game should my child start with?
For grade 3, try Division Dash or Galaxy Dividers. For remainders in grades 3 to 5, try Division Squadron or Division Remainder Ranch. For long division in grades 4 to 5, try Long Division Depot. Fraction Divide suits grades 5 to 6, and Long Division Decimal Dock suits grade 7.
