Probability Games for Kids (Grades 3–8)

Play Likelihood Line (Grades 3–5)

Probability games practice describing and measuring chance with fractions, spinners and outcome trees. They are free and cover grades 3 to 8.

Probability tells how likely an event is. It is used in games, weather and science. These games let kids spin, count outcomes and run experiments, so they can compare theory with what happens.

Common Questions

How do I teach probability to my child?

Start with words: impossible, unlikely, likely and certain. Next, use a bag of marbles. If 3 of 10 marbles are red, the chance of red is 3 out of 10. Then run an experiment. Pull a marble 20 times, put it back each time, and compare the results with the fraction.

What grade do kids learn probability?

Probability is grade 7 in the Common Core. Many schools introduce likelihood words and simple chances in grades 3 to 5. Compound events come after that, in grades 7 to 8.

What is a common probability mistake?

Kids think a coin is "due" for tails after five heads. It is not. Each flip is separate, and the chance of tails is still 1 out of 2. Past flips do not change the next one. A long run of flips shows the pattern only in the long run.

Which probability game should my child start with?

For grades 3 to 5, try Likelihood Line. For grades 4 to 6, try Probability Path, Quantum Spinner or Outcome Orchard. For grade 7, try Compound Chance Café.

Are these probability games free?

Yes. The games are free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. There is no sign-up. They run in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
