Grade 3 place value games practice rounding to the nearest 10 or 100, adding and subtracting within 1,000, and multiplying by multiples of 10.
In grade 3, children use place value as a tool. They round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100, add and subtract within 1,000 with ease, and multiply a one-digit number by a multiple of 10, such as 9 × 80. Kids who can say what each digit is worth find all three much easier.
